WHO ARE WE?
At its core, S.O.A.R is a story-driven roleplay group. The rest?S.O.A.R is a fellowship of heroes, protectors, do-gooders, crimefighters or those that simple have the willpower to do right against any odds.While focused on investigating and fighting against all manner of threats, big and small, they'll never back down from a challenge or a fight.Not wanting to neglect neither Paragon City or the world itself, S.O.A.R. seeks to make sure to not leave anybody behind or have anyone feel forgotton.

1: No Killing"We're not to take the life of another sapient or sentient being. It doesn't matter their species, background or anything. Every life is precious, every mind is unique, every being is special. We aren't executors, we're protectors. It's a difference, even if you argue there isn't."
DISCLAIMER: While this rule is in-character for our group, there comes a time when someone might have no choice but to make this choice. We will not penalize you for this! The only thing we don't want are characters that will save the day by committing world atrocities every day.2: Support"Support each other. Support your neighbors, your foes, your lovers, your haters; support and show love. The world can't change by itself, we need to support each other, help each other hold the burdens and vileness at bay. Sometimes the greatest weapon isn't to throw a punch, but to listen."

3: Organize"We need to always try to be smart, always try to think of ways to end conflicts whether than prolong them. We make sure lives are saved rather than taken, threats are stopped rather than spread. Always try to be prepared, even when dirt hits the fan, you got this. We got this."4: Assist"We should always be helpers more than anything, always ready to assist and help those, whether they are in the city or even out of this world. If someone calls for help, we should be ready to assist; if someone needs a shoulder, we should try to offer ours. Nobody should be like Atlas and hold the entire world on their shoulders, but we should always help those we can."
5: Respond"We shouldn't think ourselves above or below any problem, if something happens, we should always respond. If someone needs help crossing the street, if a cat is stuck in a tree, if a dog is trapped in a hole, if a kaiju is attacking the city, if a gang war is erupting on the streets, or if someone needs help putting their groceries up? It shouldn't be a thought of 'Is this beneath or above me', it should be, 'Of course I will.' Sometimes the worst thing someone can do is turn their back."

OUR EVENTS
Many of SOAR's events and storylines are player-driven and adapt to the lore of City of Heroes/Villains!Some will adapt an AE-style format with text roleplay to fit the scene, others will stick purely to the AE-format with some dungeon master-style dialogue inserted to fill in the gaps or even run entirely text based in-game or on the discord server.That doesn't mean we don't run content in the game. Based on the weekly format, we will run Task Forces each week and even find other people's AEs to run if it's a slow one or random content purely for the fun of it.

Here are some potential questions to answer if your too shy to ask at the SG Fair!
What timezone does SOAR play in?
SOAR will play to Eastern Standard Time, but will adjust to timezones that are central, mountain and pacific too!Right now, our schedule is Task Force Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for AEs or other events and Saturday is a bi weekly casual hang out with the group.
What kind of threats does SOAR face every day?
SOAR's message is simple: We assist against any threat, at any level, as long as we protect innocent lives.There are various range of members in our fellowship, from those who clear the streets of gangs to worldwide threats! Sometimes, on occasion, even going into outer space.No story, or event, is too much or too little for SOAR. They will reach out and help any community. So if your just someone who fights gangs, or has a personal vendetta against Nemesis or even your own story against an original supervillain, you are welcomed here.
Does my hero have to wear traditional spandex to be part of SOAR?
Nope!
SOAR is a superhero group but it accepts both traditional and unorthodox type of heroes. Is your hero some kind of undead mad scientist that wants to help the sick after he perished from a disease themselves? They are eligible to join! Is your hero wearing spandex with a comic-book like origin? They can join!SOAR is less about the aesthetic and more about principal. If your character follows the S.O.A.R. metholody, then they will fit right in with us!
My character leans more to vigilantism. Can they join too?
While SOAR is a superhero group first, it will also take more vigilante types or even those from the military as long as they fit with the S.O.A.R. mantra. Also, No Killing.So if you're interested and your character isn't 100% super heroic, vibe with us for a while and chat with us!
If I join, can my alts join SOAR too?
Yes they can! You can join with your main character or any alts!
The hero I play is a minor. Can they join SOAR?
Yes, we accept minor superheroes into SOAR. We will just be very, VERY careful though.Please do not lewd your minor characters in any capacity. They will be removed if you do.
I am a minor IRL. Am I allowed to join the supergroup?
While you can roleplay a minor, we'd prefer to have adults OOC in the supergroup.No minors IRL. You've got to be at least 21 or up. Sorry!
I don't want to join SOAR but I want my supervillain/group to antagonize/run events for SOAR. Is that okay?
Absolutely!In our discord, SOAR has three tags:
S.O.A.Rers,
Friends/Allies
and
Villains/Enemies.If your villain really comes to loathe SOAR and wants to do things against them, or you want to run AEs/events for SOAR to thwart, you can join and coordinate with us!If you don't want to be a part of SOAR's roster, you can become part of its Rogue Gallery.This also applies to anyone who is already part of another supergroup but still wants to assist SOAR ICly. You can join with the Friends/Allies tag!
Will you be running any endgame content?
No.SOAR is roleplay and story first. Even when we run content, it'll be IC 98% of the time and pushing for those interactions first and foremost. We're not interested in the endgame content.That being said, that doesn't mean we won't. There might be a blue moon that someone(I.E: Anomalie) wants to see the giant Rikti Monkey so we'll arrange one night to do the Lady Grey Task Force 1-Star or a 1-Star Imperious Task Force just to see the expanded Nictus stuff and punch giant robots in ancient Greece.If you want to run endgame content daily, SOAR might not be the supergroup for you.
If I don't see you at the SG Fair, how do I join?
SOAR likes to recruit by running in-game Peregrine Island radios, all done ICly, and offer it to anyone that is interested.You can also express interest through Anomalie, Ghost Eyes, Solarlight or anyone else that will get you an individual discord invite to the group.
